Viktor Shabanov, Director of Charity Programmes at The Educational Initiatives Foundation, continuing the topic of emotional intelligence of schoolchildren, shared simple techniques that help to develop emotional intelligence in a child.

Three simple exercises are based on questions: 👇
🔹 Name the emotion you are feeling
This question will help you to become aware of your emotions, take the first step towards understanding and controlling them. In addition, this is a very simple and understandable task for a child, identifying his or her emotional state and mood.
🔹 Why do you feel this emotion and not another?
Going deeper into this question helps to make a simple analysis of your actions and deeds, because by determining why this emotion dominates, the child gradually moves towards understanding the reasons for his or her reaction to certain events. And this is already half a step towards understanding and realising your feelings.
🔹 What exactly (what event) caused this emotion in you?

Finding the answer to this question leads to the child’s understanding of his or her reaction to the influence of external factors. Thanks to this exercise, we gradually move on to the child’s understanding of his or her feelings rather than emotions.
