“Good night” reports on book collection

“Good night” reports on book collection

Every day in the news, there are reports of the destruction of Ukrainian libraries, bookstores, and printing houses by invaders. Therefore, our goal of providing Ukrainian children with reading in their native language becomes increasingly important. And we sincerely thank everyone who joined the book collection project “Good Night”!

The first to join our collection were employees of IT-Integrator and Accord Group companies. Part of the collected books is already bringing joy to little Ukrainians who are staying with their parents in Japan.

Then students from schools in Kyiv and the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth made a powerful contribution to our project. Today, we want to remember and thank all the donors and participants in the collection who picked up the baton after the schools.

The Faculty of Eastern and Slavic Philology of KNLU turned out to be the champion in book collection in February!
Students and teachers collected almost 100 books for children. Students from the American University Kyiv even organized a competition between faculties to see who could collect more children’s literature. Friendship won, as always, as well as the children who will soon have the opportunity to read their favorite fairy tales in Ukrainian.
It is pleasing that libraries supported the book collection. In particular, the team of the Yaroslav the Wise National Library of Ukraine. As well as the OCIUM Library in Rusanivka, where a unique space has been created for communication with books, learning, and development.

Another thank you goes to responsible businesses and personally to Yulia Ublinsky, founder and CEO of GoBeauty Studios Ukraine, for organizing book collection at three studio locations and in OSBBs.

The Ukrainian office of Tech Fabric also joined the book collection in Dnipro. Employees collected children’s books and sent them to the address of the “Educational Initiatives Fund.”

Special thanks to the members of the book club Kyiv Book Club “5K” and personally to Igor Rozhkov, for popularizing reading, book donations, and the financial contribution from the club’s benefactor – Luis Kolman-Shestak for the purchase of books for 10,000 UAH.

We also express our gratitude for the informational support and books sent to:
Bohdan Yegorov (Book Bunker), Marina Manyahina, Kostyantyn Kovalevsky, Volodymyr Matuzko, Denis Voloshyn.
In total, since the beginning of the year, thanks to you, we have collected almost 1500 books!

All collected books are already on their way to centers of Ukrainians in Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Next up is the United Kingdom. Thanks to you, it was a wonderful story, thank you sincerely!

Humanitarian aid for Sumy region

Humanitarian aid for Sumy region

Thanks to the humanitarian cargo received from international partners Hearts for Ukraine and Yorkshire Aid Convoy, today we were able to send 4 pallets of essential items and clothing for children and adults to the center assisting the affected in Okhtyrka, where most people from the border areas of Sumy region are being evacuated!

The situation on the Ukrainian border in Sumy region is extremely tense.

Small frontline villages suffer the most from constant shelling. Recently, the number of Russian attacks has skyrocketed, making the situation extremely challenging. This can only be compared to the front-line zones such as Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv region, Donbas, and Kherson region.

We urge all caring individuals to join in helping the residents of Sumy region and stay informed about the situation in the region.

Nibulon in “Unbreakable Education” program

Nibulon in “Unbreakable Education” program

Nibulon and the Educational Initiatives Foundation have joined forces to ensure access to digital education in Mykolaiv Oblast!
As part of the “Unbreakable Education” program, Nibulon has delivered the first batch of computer equipment to schools and colleges in Mykolaiv Oblast.

Thanks to this initiative, hundreds of children who lack access to computers due to conflict will be able to fully engage in online or blended learning.

“We are currently delivering approximately 400 units of computer equipment,” commented Yana Romanenko, Director of Personnel at Nibulon. “It can be used to equip computer labs and facilitate distance learning. We are confident in the importance of such initiatives because the development of the future generation without the use of new technologies in the educational process is impossible today.”

The Educational Initiatives Fund expresses sincere gratitude to Nibulon for supporting the “Unbreakable Education” project, which aims to provide children with equal access to quality education in times of war.

Ksenia Zakharchenko, Head of Charity Projects at the Educational Initiatives Fund, noted: “The goal of the ‘Unbreakable Education’ project initiated by our fund is to provide children with equal access to quality education in times of war. We are grateful to the partners for taking under their wing the Mykolaiv region and providing such necessary educational equipment.”
Vasyl Shuliar, Director of the Mykolaiv Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education (OIPPO), added that the institute, as a partner of the Educational Initiatives Fund, is ready to support Nibulon’s initiative and fulfill the honorable mission of providing technical, organizational, and methodological support for the proposed project and the provided equipment for use in educational institutions in Mykolaiv Oblast.”

Alla Velikhovska, Director of the Department of Education and Science at the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, stated in her address: “Nibulon has been a hallmark of our region for many years, providing jobs for Mykolaiv residents. As true leaders, they support social initiatives aimed at education development. The computers we received today will be helpful to hundreds of children who are studying online or in a blended format and face challenges in learning due to a lack of equipment or outdated technology.”

We hope for further cooperation with Nibulon in implementing educational programs!

Restore the Central Children’s Library in Pokrovsk

Restore the Central Children’s Library in Pokrovsk

Educational Initiatives Fund helped restore the Central Children’s Library in Pokrovsk!

On February 28, 2024, the Central Children’s Library named after Olena Pchilka was affected by shelling.

To restore the library’s collection, a fundraising campaign was launched, which, thanks to the financial support of partners: the Educational Initiatives Fund, the Network for the Protection of National Interests “A N T S”, the Center for Innovation and Partnership U.Mentor, and caring Ukrainians, was promptly closed.

Together, we were able to replace the broken glass panes and entrance doors, which had remained open to the residents of Pokrovsk since the beginning of the war.

We stand together on the cultural front!
