Books and Toys to Support and Inspire Children at Severynivka Lyceum

Books and Toys to Support and Inspire Children at Severynivka Lyceum

29 October 2024

With great warmth and joy, we have delivered books in Ukrainian and toys for children collected as part of the “Dobranich” project to Severynivka Lyceum of Tarashcha City Council in Kyiv Oblast.

Now 102 pupils and 28 little ones from the kindergarten will have more opportunities for reading, play and creativity.

The books will serve not only as a source of knowledge but also as prizes for school competitions, giving children the motivation to develop and reach new heights.

At the same time, the lyceum still requires sports equipment — skipping ropes, balls and tennis rackets will help children engage fully in sports and enjoy active breaks. We believe that supporting education and active leisure is the best investment in a happy childhood and Ukraine’s future.

Enormous thanks to every partner who stands with us in this good cause as part of the “Dobranich” project. Together we are building a world where every child has the opportunity to grow with inspiration and hope.

To donate books for children or initiate a collection in your area, please contact coordinator Tetyana Oblakevych at press@eif.org.ua or via direct message on the project page.

Anyone wishing to help may also send books to Nova Post depot No. 58 in Kyiv. For details, please contact Tetyana.

Anton Dziuba Delivers 16 Laptops from Reusing IT and Books from MIM to Lyceum No. 3 in Zhytomyr

25 October 2024

Anton Dziuba, Chairman of the Board of the Educational Initiatives Foundation, presented Maiia Ihnatenko, a physics teacher at Lyceum No. 3 in Zhytomyr, with 16 laptops for the classroom, provided by Scottish partners Reusing IT, and a gift set of books on leadership and technology from MIM Business School.

Maiia Ihnatenko is not simply a semi-finalist of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2024. She systematically implements project-based methods and research approaches to develop key competencies in the natural sciences, particularly physics.

This philosophy aligns with the Educational Initiatives Foundation’s vision for supporting STEM education.

During the visit, Foundation specialists observed a physics lesson and had the opportunity to speak with pupils and teachers at the lyceum.

We were pleasantly impressed by the lyceum’s modern infrastructure and the professionalism of its educators. The genuine emotions of the children and their gratitude inspire us to continue our work. We thank our partners Reusing IT and MIM Business School for their support in developing education!

Computer Equipment for Unbreakable Education: Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium 89 Receives Technical Support

Computer Equipment for Unbreakable Education: Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium 89 Receives Technical Support

24 October 2024
The Educational Initiatives Foundation continues to report on the delivery of computer equipment as part of the “Unbreakable Education” project. In September 2024, Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium No. 89 received 20 all-in-one computers and 20 laptops, which have become an essential component of the educational process.

The digital devices are used daily, helping teachers to organise online lessons, enhance their digital competence, create interactive learning content, and participate in webinars and seminars. Thanks to quality computer equipment, educators are able to conduct individual sessions, improve the standard of pastoral work with pupils, and prepare them for intellectual and creative competitions. In a frontline city, these capabilities allow for significant activation of the learning process and ensure high-quality knowledge acquisition.

The compact and mobile laptops have become an integral part of blended learning, enabling pupils to successfully work through materials even during lessons in the shelters of neighbouring schools. Digital devices make learning more engaging and convenient, allowing pupils to carry out practical and laboratory work in physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science, as well as interactive exercises and testing.

The “Unbreakable Education” project is being implemented as part of a nationwide programme under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with support from national and international partners.

The Educational Initiatives Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to partner Reusing It for their continued support of Ukrainian education and assistance in addressing new challenges whilst providing opportunities for continuous development and learning.

We are also grateful to IT-Integrator for their assistance with logistics in Ukraine.

100 Books for Kherson Library from the “Dobranich” Project

100 Books for Kherson Library from the “Dobranich” Project

 23 October 2024

We are pleased to report the delivery of 100 books from the “Dobranich” project by the Educational Initiatives Foundation to the library in Kherson!

De-occupied Kherson Oblast, which continues to suffer from enemy shelling, is in need of Ukrainian literature. Destroyed libraries, books removed by occupiers, complicated logistics and business operations – these are the realities of life in the city and region today.

Yet the need for Ukrainian-language materials here exists, and it is growing!

According to librarians, residents of the region are increasingly switching to Ukrainian for communication, and this requires more reading. Therefore, we could not ignore the request from Volodymyr Bahnenko, a Kherson native, psychologist and writer from the South, who regularly collects and delivers books to his native Kherson Oblast.

This time, books carefully selected by volunteers from the Educational Initiatives Foundation have been added to this valuable cargo – these include children’s books for various age groups as well as books for adults.
