Viktor Shabanov shared techniques that help to form emotional intelligence in a child

Viktor Shabanov shared techniques that help to form emotional intelligence in a child

29 November 2024

Viktor Shabanov, Director of Charity Programmes at The Educational Initiatives Foundation, continuing the topic of emotional intelligence of schoolchildren, shared simple techniques that help to develop emotional intelligence in a child.

Three simple exercises are based on questions: 👇
🔹 Name the emotion you are feeling
This question will help you to become aware of your emotions, take the first step towards understanding and controlling them. In addition, this is a very simple and understandable task for a child, identifying his or her emotional state and mood.
🔹 Why do you feel this emotion and not another?
Going deeper into this question helps to make a simple analysis of your actions and deeds, because by determining why this emotion dominates, the child gradually moves towards understanding the reasons for his or her reaction to certain events. And this is already half a step towards understanding and realising your feelings.
🔹 What exactly (what event) caused this emotion in you?

Finding the answer to this question leads to the child’s understanding of his or her reaction to the influence of external factors. Thanks to this exercise, we gradually move on to the child’s understanding of his or her feelings rather than emotions.

We thank the educational institutions that join the collection of books within the Goodnight project!

28 November 2024

Today we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for their active participation in the collection:
🏫 Lyceum 86 “Consul”
🏫 Lyceum 125
🏫 Vesta kindergarten
🏫 Kids Galaxy
🏫 Gymnasium 117
as well as the Lyceum “Edukator”, which used three locations at once – in Vyshenky, Osokorky and Nyvky. 👏

It’s great to see that in addition to learning and acquiring life skills in war, schoolchildren and kindergarteners are involved in charitable activities. 🤝 Sharing what you have, warming your neighbour with your care, not being indifferent to someone else’s misfortune – this is what teachers teach, including through participation in projects such as Good Night. 🕊️ And almost every school holds collections of either essentials for the military or IDPs, charity events (fairs, concerts), the proceeds of which are donated to the needs of the army and temporarily displaced persons.

Thank you very much for your feedback and we invite educational institutions all over Ukraine to participate in collecting books for their peers who have left their homes because of the war. 🙌

To get involved, write to the project coordinator at press@eif.org.ua. Thanks to your generous book donations, children get even more opportunities to read in their native Ukrainian language!

Together towards victory!

27 November 2024

On 27 November, a museum dedicated to the distinguished scientist Boris Yevgenyevich Paton opened in Kyiv, in the premises of the Lyceum of Information Technologies #79.

The opening was attended by the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, representatives of the Pechersk District State Administration in Kyiv, E.O. Anton Dzyuba, Chairman of the Board of the Educational Initiatives Foundation, also took part in the celebrations marking the opening of the museum.

The Educational Initiatives Foundation is a permanent partner of the lyceum, systematically supports the development of STEM in educational institutions in Ukraine, and welcomes the active involvement of young people in the study of mathematics and natural sciences, which will contribute to the technical development of the country and its entry into the circle of advanced technological states.

We are convinced that the younger generation of Ukrainians should know their history and scientists such as Boris Paton, who made a revolutionary contribution to welding technology, metallurgy and electrical engineering.

Thank you for such an important initiative!
