Career Guidance as the Key to Ukraine’s Future!

8 November 2024

Today, the issue of career guidance is becoming particularly important for Ukraine, as it plays a key role not only in the development of youth careers but also in strengthening our nation’s economy.

Young finalists of the STEAM House 2024 competition have been given a unique opportunity to explore pathways for career development. Together with an experienced mentor, STEM education ambassador in Ukraine, lecturer at MIM-Kyiv Business School, vice president of IT-Integrator and founder of the Educational Initiatives Foundation NGO, Nadiia Omelchenko, they discussed options for their professional future.

We are pleased to give you a glimpse behind the scenes of what happens at the mentoring meetings for STEAM House 2024 finalists and what interesting and useful information the participants receive.

For more details on the benefits and challenges of working in large corporations, small businesses, as well as opportunities for those seeking to create their own start-up or business; the importance of self-analysis and setting clear goals for successful personal and professional development, see the article on Osvita.ua

Educational Initiatives Foundation Continues to Report on Computer Equipment Deliveries to Ukrainian Educational Institutions as Part of the Nationwide “Unbreakable Education” Project

6 November 2024

The Educational Initiatives Foundation continues to report on the delivery of computer equipment to Ukrainian educational institutions as part of the nationwide “Unbreakable Education” project, which is being implemented under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with support from national and international partners.

As part of the project, the Separate Subdivision “Optical and Mechanical Professional College of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv” has received 30 units of computer equipment (15 laptops and 15 desktop computers) to establish a computer laboratory. This support provides the opportunity to deliver quality training for specialists in the fields of electronics, micro- and nanosystem technology, as well as software engineering.

Furthermore, the equipment provided significantly improves the educational process for young opticians and programmers, and contributes to the enhancement of state personnel policy in the field of optical instrument engineering and information technology. Students can now study key disciplines such as “Fundamentals of Programming and Algorithmic Languages”, “Electrical Engineering with Fundamentals of Electronics” and others using quality equipment.

We are sincerely grateful to Reusing It for the equipment provided and their support for the development of education in Ukraine, as well as to IT-Integrator for assistance with logistics in Ukraine.

Together we are building quality education and helping to train a new generation of highly qualified specialists for our country!

STEAM House 2024: National Hub for Innovation and Education Unites Ukraine’s Best STEM Projects

STEAM House 2024: National Hub for Innovation and Education Unites Ukraine’s Best STEM Projects

30 October 2024

The all-Ukrainian STEAM House competition for modelling smart devices is expanding its horizons this year, bringing together diverse projects that share the ideals of STEM education.

The competition final will gather teams that have passed regional selections, won local stages and received high marks from the competition commission. They will be joined by participants from the all-Ukrainian projects “STEM Girls” and “Ko_Laba” — initiatives that share STEAM House’s philosophy and actively promote STEM throughout Ukraine.

Composition of finalists and special invitations to the final!

This year, winners of the “Techno School” competition have entered the competition without regional selection, having subsequently passed the selection round at the all-Ukrainian level, reached the semi-final and, finally, the final.

Furthermore, the STEAM House organising committee has invited one team from the “STEM Girls” project and three teams from the “Ko_Laba” project to provide a platform for the best STEM initiatives.

The team representing the “STEM Girls” project is the team from Horokhiv Lyceum with the EcoGrow project — an innovative solution for ecological plant cultivation that demonstrates the philosophy of sustainable development in action.

The finalists will also be joined by:

👉🏻Team “Botaniky” (Ko_Laba, Chernihiv) with the PlantLab project: Interactive micro-greenhouse for experiments.

👉🏻Team “4 real” with the SMART street lighting control system project from Chuhuiv community, Kharkiv Oblast.

👉🏻Team “Creators of the Future” with the “Light Shield” kit project from Khoroshiv territorial community, Zhytomyr Oblast.

STEAM House — a hub for innovation and a platform for exchanging ideas.

STEAM House is becoming a genuine national platform where pupils have the opportunity not only to showcase their projects but also to find like-minded individuals and share their experience in STEM fields. Teams from different corners of Ukraine will meet here, and their projects reflect current engineering and environmental challenges that can be solved through the combination of science, engineering and creative approaches.

Thanks to the support of partners who share STEAM House’s philosophy and values, the competition not only brings together the strongest participants but also forms a genuine community of young innovators.

We are sincerely grateful to our partners and everyone who has joined this important initiative: Accord Group, Logitech, GoGlobal, STEAM Train Educational Centre, U.Mentor Innovation and Partnership Centre, and the STEM Education Department of IMZO.

Together we are building a solid foundation for the development of STEM education in Ukraine and look forward to an exciting competition final!

Books and Toys to Support and Inspire Children at Severynivka Lyceum

Books and Toys to Support and Inspire Children at Severynivka Lyceum

29 October 2024

With great warmth and joy, we have delivered books in Ukrainian and toys for children collected as part of the “Dobranich” project to Severynivka Lyceum of Tarashcha City Council in Kyiv Oblast.

Now 102 pupils and 28 little ones from the kindergarten will have more opportunities for reading, play and creativity.

The books will serve not only as a source of knowledge but also as prizes for school competitions, giving children the motivation to develop and reach new heights.

At the same time, the lyceum still requires sports equipment — skipping ropes, balls and tennis rackets will help children engage fully in sports and enjoy active breaks. We believe that supporting education and active leisure is the best investment in a happy childhood and Ukraine’s future.

Enormous thanks to every partner who stands with us in this good cause as part of the “Dobranich” project. Together we are building a world where every child has the opportunity to grow with inspiration and hope.

To donate books for children or initiate a collection in your area, please contact coordinator Tetyana Oblakevych at press@eif.org.ua or via direct message on the project page.

Anyone wishing to help may also send books to Nova Post depot No. 58 in Kyiv. For details, please contact Tetyana.
