Responsibility Award 2025

10 December 2025

We are pleased to share the news that this year our team participated in the Responsibility Award from Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation with a project to develop STEM competencies among students as part of the ChillPro Tech Students Awards 2025 competition, which was held in accordance with the standards of the global movement to raise the prestige of blue-collar and engineering professions, WorldSkills, on 19-21 February 2025 at the International Exhibition Centre as part of the main exhibition in the field of low-temperature technology in Ukraine, Chill Pro Expo 2025.

This competition, in particular:

Demonstrates the practical skills of young power engineers from many higher education institutions in Ukraine to participants in the country’s energy market in a convenient and effective format at the main specialised expo event of the year

Promotes engineering and technical education among young people in Ukraine

Focuses on issues of energy efficiency, alternative energy sources and environmental safety of equipment, which is particularly important in the context of russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and the world

Promotes the exchange of experience between scientific and technical staff of relevant higher education institutions and the conclusion of PPP agreements between energy equipment manufacturers, educational institutions and civil society organisations

It was made possible thanks to close partnership cooperation:

The Academic and Scientific Engineering and Technical Institute named after Academician I.S. Gulogo National University of Food Technologies
Refrigerating Association of Ukraine and its member companies
The Educational Initiatives Foundation
Premier Expo

We are grateful for the opportunity to join the ranks of nominees for the Responsibility Award and continue to promote STEM among the country’s student youth.

KAI Huawei Excellence Center

KAI Huawei Excellence Center

9 December 2025

On 9 December, the KAI Huawei Excellence Centre was opened – an educational and research space that has set a new standard for technical education in Ukraine.

For the Educational Initiatives Foundation, this is an important step towards creating a modern engineering environment where KAI students will work with technologies that define today’s telecom industry: 4G/5G/6G, WiFi7, IoT, Smart City, cybersecurity, and modern network architectures. The centre already has a Huawei ICT Academy with HCIA certification courses, practical laboratories, technical workshops and hackathons — a format that allows future engineers to develop their skills through real-world tasks and practice.

The space combines a lecture area, an R&D lab, and a team hub where students can apply their knowledge, work on projects, and test network solutions on real equipment. An important part will be “KAI Huawei Talks” — regular deep-dive lectures and practical sessions from Huawei engineers that will help students transition from academic training to real industry challenges.

“We thank KAI and Huawei Ukraine for their partnership and vision for the future of education. Today, we didn’t just open a lab — we created a point of entry into the profession for hundreds of Ukrainian students,” said Nadiya Omelchenko, founder of the Educational Initiatives Fund.

The KAI Huawei Excellence Centre has officially opened. Ahead are the first courses, workshops, and hackathons.

Training for educators: fundraising as a tool for school development

Training for educators: fundraising as a tool for school development

11 November 2025

The Educational Initiatives Foundation, together with its partners — Charitable Organisation Mazal T, the Professional Association of Educators, UNITED ANTS, and the STEAM train Training Centre — held a training session on “Fundraising Strategy for Educational Institutions” at School No. 226 in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv.

The speakers shared practical advice on preparing grant applications and explained how to create projects that can successfully work with grant funds and scale up in the future.

The event was held in an interactive format: Kahoot, discussion of questions from directors. Participants shared their own experiences and sought solutions for the development of the educational environment.

Educators also divided into two teams and, under the guidance of mentors, analysed case studies involving social initiatives for submission in future grant applications.
After completing the training, participants received certificates of professional development.
