Unbreakable Education

A charitable initiative equipping Ukraine’s educational institutions with refurbished computers. The project is delivered within a national programme, supported by the Scottish charity Reusing IT and under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

Unbreakable education

Project Mission: To ensure equal access to quality education in times of war.

Project Objective: Strengthening the material and technical base of educational institutions.

During 2023 – 2024, with the support of Reusing IT and donors from the UK, USA, Sweden, Netherlands, and Switzerland, we transferred over 2,500 refurbished fast computer devices of various form factors (desktops, laptops, all-in-ones) to educational institutions in Ukraine.

At present, a further 5,000 computer devices are in preparation for handover to educational institutions for the 2025-2026 academic year.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, we are tracking a critical shortage of gadgets in educational institutions.

About Project

During the war, digitalisation is crucial for the survival of the Ukrainian education system. Online educational tools and blended learning have become a daily reality for schools, universities, colleges, and institutions of vocational and non-formal education.

The quality of refurbished computers is identical to that of new devices; however, they offer a considerable cost advantage. This makes refurbished computer equipment ideally suited for the “Unbreakable Education” charitable project, which aims to meet the exceptionally high demand for devices among pupils, students, and educators during the war.

The “Unbreakable Education” project was founded by the Educational Initiatives Foundation with the charity Reusing IT (Scotland, United Kingdom).

The project is implemented under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
