UA Energy: From Ukraine’s History to Its Future
Project Goal
Between May and October 2026, the “UA Energy: From Ukraine’s History to Its Future” project is offering a one-time, free provision of up to 100 new Ukrainian-language books. This initiative aims to help establish or expand a “patriotic education corner” within public and/or school libraries located in communities across Ukraine’s frontline and de-occupied territories—specifically in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.
Scope of assistance
More than 10,000 books have been donated to the project by a number of prominent Ukrainian publishing houses. Notably, this includes stock salvaged from locations in the Kyiv region that were damaged during the war as a result of targeted russian attacks on Ukraine’s cultural institutions. A significant portion of these publications will form the basis for new book corners in community libraries, providing readers with access to contemporary Ukrainian-language literature and materials for patriotic education. In this way, the project combines support for library collections with the preservation and dissemination of Ukrainian cultural heritage that has suffered due to russian aggression.
