STEAM-center in Kryvyi Rih

Education is our future and we, the team of the Educational Initiatives Foundation, are very happy when in this difficult time we manage to bring to life and be involved in the implementation of educational projects. Yes, we are glad to present you a new STEAM space in Gymnasium No. 51 in Kryvyi Rih.

A unique opportunity to avoid boredom and standardized tasks in physics, biology, geography, mathematics and computer science lessons has now opened on the basis of one of the STEAM centers in Kryvyi Rih.

Having as part of the STEAM center Codey Rocky robotics, a 3D printer, equipment for conducting integrated STEAM lessons in various subjects of the natural and mathematical cycle, in autumn 2021 the team of the Kryvyi Rih Gymnasium No. 51 developed the idea of expanding the technical capabilities of the STE selection of the Hackathon for Leadership in Local Innovations (HALLI) Project, implemented by the National Interest Advocacy Network “ANTS” with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy and in summer 2022 received a grant for the purchase of equipment in the amount of $5,000.

“For grant funds, we will purchase sets of programmable electronic modules and sensors with a wide range of opportunities for students, already in the gymnasium we will be able to assemble our own devices for measuring, scanning, recording data, understand the physical and mathematical essence of phenomena, program and create our own STEAM devices, “smart greenhouses”, etc.

Thanks to the clear support and advice of Anton Dziuba, the Chairman of the Board of the Educational Initiatives Foundation, we managed to select the perfect set of electronic modules to ensure the optimal combination of the age transition of students to the preparation of serious STEM projects,” says Anna Novikova, the leader of the STEAM 51 project.

Now the STEAM center in Kryvyi Rih will have the opportunity to involve students of technical universities in the educational process, conduct information campaigns for teachers of the city and Ukraine to get acquainted with the options for STEAM equipment in the field of robotics, create integrated educational projects, workshops and excursions for young students interested in electronics and robotics.
